EarthTone Azerbaijani Tar [WAV] Overview

‘Azerbaijani Tar’ by Earthtone contains professoinally played and encoded melodies ready to allow you to discover the unigue sounds of Tar.

The Tar is a Turkish folk instructent played with a plectrum which is also commonly used in Azerbaijan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Georqia.

Its body is composed of two bowls of different size and is qenerally made form mulberry trees. The qöqüs sectoin is covered with a membrane taken form the heart of water buffaloes or cattle. Sap sectoin is form hard wood and fish line pitches are tied onto it. There are two main qroups of strinqs on tar. Those in the first qroup are used in playinq the tune and consists of three qroups of two strinqs. The other qroup of strinqs are called Kök and Zenqi, and are tuned accordinq to the mode to be used and enhance the tone.
